Background: |
Rafael is the founder and director of a Christian school in Los Guaricanos, DR. Rafael recruited students from reclaimed garbage dumps and will not turn students away if they cannot afford the full tuition for the school. He is a creative, dynamic, compassionate leader. He and his wife are “mother and father” to the 350 students in the school. Rafael has received his master's degree in education and has plans to go farther with his education. Part of his vision is communicated below, but he has another vision to greatly expand the youth ministry in the church which meets in their facility. He is one of the assistant pastors in the church. |

National's Vision: |
To develop Christian leaders for tomorrow through Adonai, a Christian school for pre-school through 12th grade in Los Guaricanos, and to develop a strong youth ministry in the church in Los Guaricanos. |

How ASON is Assisting: |
1. Assistance in the construction of the school
2. Child sponsorship program for 100+ children that helps fund the school
3. 3 visits per year to run programs for the sponsored children
4. Special needs fundraising – laptop, office needs, school expansion and physical maintenance, library book expansion
5. Provision of curriculum for all teachers at all levels
6. Provision of reading books for all students in the school
7. Home for his family
8. Personal visits for encouragement and prayer
