ASON's Leveraging Philosophy

ASON exists to provide capable, visionary nationals around the world with startup assistance for projects that will provide ongoing spiritual training and humanitarian aid to communities that need it.

On many diplomas issued to graduates of higher education there is a statement that declares that the degree "is conferred with all its privileges and obligations." ASON believes that not only does education confer obligations, but that material and spiritual resources also confer obligation. ASON believes that the United States is blessed by our Creator with material and spiritual blessing, and that along with this blessing is conferred obligation. This obligation to the Creator who blessed us is a tremendous opportunity to experience the privilege and joy of partnering with God's people around the world to accomplish what He is calling them to do. ASON stands for Americans Serving Other Nationals.

There are two philosophical reasons for ASON's existence.

ASON has as its first philosophical belief, that U.S. citizens have great obligation and opportunity before them to responsibly assist other nationals.

ASON has as its second philosophical belief, that the best way to responsibly assist other nationals is through their own capable, visionary leaders.

As we scan the horizon for ways to assist, one could send a U.S. leader to assist other nationals, or one could invest in national leaders with vision who are already in place. ASON has chosen to invest in the lives of capable, national leaders who can assist their own communities in utilizing "startup" resources to become self-sustaining. By utilizing national leaders with vision, one avoids the expense of sending someone from the U.S. to do the job. That U.S. someone would need to relocate, learn cultural systems and master another language in order to be effective. And that process is costly in terms of finances, emotional energy and time. By working through national leaders with vision, resources are utilized to best advantage.
