Please pray for ASON. We need the daily guidance of the Lord to make the critical decisions and moves necessary to make the biggest impact the Lord will allow for His sake.

• Pray especially for India. We need to complete the first building on the land there for our ministry complex. Opposition has subsided enough to allow building to continue but it always hangs over their heads. For the orphans, students and offices to be on their own land, in their own buildings will make a huge difference and give them great relief. It will give them a solid base from which to generate community understanding and support that will squelch opposition. If you know of anyone with extra funds, we need $100,000 within a year for this very worthwhile project.

• Also, pray for the development of our second tri cultural youth camp in Latvia July 13-23, 2007. Some of you went with us in 2005 and will want to come again. Some who didn’t experience this joy will want to give it serious consideration. We’ll be sending more details soon. Mark these dates on your calendar and pray for this great event!

• And, thirdly, please pray for Ellen as she researches possible PhD programs. There are several directions I could go and I need God’s guidance.

We need you to pray, give and go with us.

Please praise God for many answered prayers recently; the release of serious opposition in India, 2 new board members, and a wonderful strategy team to help plan for ASON’s own office building.

I was studying Psalm 139 and I Samuel 17 with my small group last night. Psalm 139 talks about the immanence of God, that He is all around us guiding and protecting no matter where we go, no matter what we are doing. It talks about the awesomeness of human development and the comforting fact that before we are ever even born, God knows all the days we will live. It’s written in His book, the book of our life. David revels in the glory of this revelation God gave him. I Samuel 17 pictures David as a youth fighting a 9 foot warrior one on one which no one else in Israel’s army was willing to do, including David’s older brothers. His faith, his courageous stand against a taunting giant inspires me deeply every time I read it. You and I face opposition as believers even in this USA. No one will stand up for us if we don’t stand up for ourselves. We have the honor of following David’s example and standing up for God’s name and character in our own cultural battles with grace and love.

God bless you and your families,

Ellen Abramson for ASON
